What are the possibilities that I could fix my Nikon?
I've got a Nikon coolpix 4300, last night a friend of mine managed to dump it in, of all places, a big bowl of water. I reacted immediately; got it out, removed the battery (although it went off immediately) and tried my best to dry it off, I Ύm leaving it aside for now and will do so for a week to make sure it is completely dry before I try to turn it back on again.
My gut feeling tells me it Ύs finished, probably burnt, but I Ύm hopeful that if I give it a bit of time to dry off if it is wet inside that it Ύll work. I wanted to see if anyone here would know out of experience whether or not is stands a chance of working again, or if it could be fixed? Problem is we don Ύt have those special centers specialized in fixing cameras either.
Any suggestions?

First off, welcome to the site. This sounds like you've got a pretty big problem here. I would not try turning the camera on, there's a chance that you could fry everything inside and lose all hope of ever getting it working. I would call Nikon and ask them what you should do. They'll either tell you to try turning it on, send it in, or you've got a nice new paperweight. Make sure you ask how much repairs will be before you send it in. You don't want to end up paying more than your camera is worth in repairs.
Good Luck

The last time I dropped a camera in water I was told by the service advisor to leave it in water so that it would not start to rust........so into a bag of water I put the camera and delivered it,...........they did rescue it but was not cheap.......so I don't know what to suggest now thatit has dried.........good luck though
