Cheer up, there is at least one other. I have had a Coolpix 5000 for several years. I am one of the ones that paid full price. The 5000 is a great camera especially when you add the 19mm lense adapter.

    Wide lens

Hi Ed, great to hear of another 5000 owner. I've only had mine since last August, paid AUS$2000 for it, so I guess that's near full price. I just bought the wide angle lens but havn't used it yet.
Have you got a gallery of wide angle pics?

    Hi Sheila,
I don't have anything on this forum, yet. Let me look through my stuff, and I will post a few.

    Hi Sheila,
Here is a picture that I took of our new fire company sub-station. I have been a member of this volunteer fire company for over 32 years, and was on the building committee for this building. I took this on a rainy morning with my Coolpix 5000 and the WC-E68 wide angle lens. We used this picture on tee shirts that we sold during the dedication. I hope that it gives you some idea of the performance of the lens. I am sorry for the interference pattern in the brick. It is caused by processing this picture for the web. It is not in the original.

    Hi Sheila,
Ok, now it's your turn to post a picture with your WC-E68. It really is a great lense. My picture realy does not show all of it's capability. I had to crop that one a bit. The real advantage is the angle of view from the camera. I was able to stand pretty close to the building, and get everything in. Try it, you will like it,

    Smile

    Hi Sheila,
I guess this makes 3 CP5000 users here. Like Ed I've had mine 12 months (and paid full price - $3200 here in NZ!!) and am still learning my way around it. I've got the wc68 wide angle, tce3 3X converter and sb50 flash. A fantastic system that far exceeds my limited ability.
    Cheers,
    Tim.

    Hi Tim

Great to hear of someone else with the 5000.
I have seen great shots taken with this camera (not mine) and I just hope I can do it justice one day. It's quite a learning curve when I've never used an SLR.
    Regards, Sheila
