Nikon D70 broken is Canon EOS10 as good?

My Nikon D70 has gone back to Nikon for repairs (a problem with the connection to the lens.) and it doesnt look like it will be fixed in time for my hols. The camera shop has offered me a Canon EOS10 as a loaner - does anyone know if the Canon is as good as my Nikon? Should i insist on a replacement Nikon?

Well if you have other lenses that only fit your Nikon, I would think having the Canon would do you no good unless they gave you all the same focal length of your current lenses to go along with the Canon.
I cant see them doing that, but I guess it wouldnt hurt to ask.

I'm guessing that they might not want to give you a D70 ad a temporary replacement because then you might ask for it permanntly

How long have you use the Nikon D70, then take it to the repair? Do that camera have the warranty?

thanks for the replies - i had the D70 for 7 months and then it stopped recognising my nikon lens! Its being fixed under warranty (via good guys) but they estimate 6-8 weeks. Good guys have offered me the loan but im not sure if their offer of the Canon is comparable. I dont really want to be messing around with a different camera on my hols but i dont have any choice at the moment.

Canon 10D is good but slower than the D70 for startup, image review, shutter lag, etc.
