    Question Nikon Coolpix SQ

Is any one here who has used the Nikon Coolpix SQ camera?
I am interested in it and want to buy it and I found the price good.
But I have read some reviews about it and found out that most users suffer from the rate of the noise and sharpness in its photos.
I want to know if the pictures' quality is the same as users said.

The little SQ is a nice automatic camera that serves its perpose very well. What I mean is, its designed to be a small, compact, auto camera, that allows a P&S to achive nice images with only the push of a button. Really nothing more, and nothing less.

The resolution of this little camera is VERY good. I found the detail in the images by this camera was good, if not better than most. But as you stated its images are fairly soft. But this could be easily fixed with post processing if one was really worried about it.

The big issue with this little guy is the noise. Some people find noise no issue at all, and some will actually lose sleep over it, it all depends on YOU.

I really did find that even daylight noise was very noticable. Really any shadowed area of the photo will show noticable noise. Again printing at 4x6 or 5x7, this noise will be almost not noticed, but its there.

The noise really kicks up in low light photography. The SQ automatically sets the ISO to 200, so you have no choice of what its going to do. With that the noise is very noticable at nightime photography.

The flash is a little weak, but thats the case with most cameras in this area. But I did find it does a decent job for what its designed to do.

And as with the rest of the coolpix line, the macro settings on this camera is GREAT...

My use with this camera was very minumal, but I have to admit its a nice little pocket camera, thats serves well as a P&S. The Nikon 4300 is also going really cheap now and you will get a nice step up in quality and the size is still fairly small.
