Question for NIKON CP 4300 users

    Hi Guys,

Does your lens look bad as mine?
(please give a look to the pic in the zip file)

If you check in the middle of it it's not circular at all,
do you see the irregular shape, the top right
is too strange, looks like a part is missing!!!

    It works fine but......
    Is it broken?

I'm new to this forum and I really appreciate your help,
    regards, Alessandro

I don't have that particular camera, so I can't tell you if what you noticed is normal. But, if "it works fine", it is probably fine.

While at circuit city today I took a few minutes to look at the lens design of the 4300.

Over all its hard to tell much from this photo, just not detail enough (more on this later).

But the 4300 I looked at had a perfect circle irus, which is should have. From what I can tell there is about 8 flaps there that make a circle like in a 35mm camera. Maybe one of yous is stuck.

The camera I was looking at also had a odd shaped lens, until I hit the focus button. At that point the irus click into a perfect circle.

So maybe yours is just stuck, or you need to try to look at it after you focus it.

There was some odd bright shinny item at the edge of the circle that looked similar to the thing in your photo. To the necked eye I was able to spot it out to be a shinny plastic, but in a photo such as the one you have submitted, it would maybe look to be a hole.

Over all I might recommend just stopping by a local store and take a look at another camera. Not sure is anything is wrong, but it would be worth the time in my personal opnion.
