The DPI is usually going to be 72 with a digital camera because it's visually fine on a computer monitor. In order to increase the DPI you need to have a program like Adobe Photoshop 6.0 or higher. If you have this program all you need to do is go into the resize picture option and change the DPI to 300 and it'll resize the image accordingly, the only downfall is that the image size will shrink. So your 1944X2592 will end up more like 1280 X1024. Another thing to do is make sure you know your printers DPI becuase if you're going to print your photos you need to set the DPI of the photo to the maximum of the printer to make a perfect print so keep that in mind. Good luck and if you need more help just ask.
