RICHMOND HILL, On., Sept. 3, 2003 ¦ Lexmark Canada Inc. today introduced the Lexmark P3150 All-In-One Photo Printer, its first sub-$180 All-In-One with built-in camera card readers. This powerful, easy-to-use tool meets the needs of all consumers looking to generate, replicate and share photos. The addition of built-in camera card readers enables digital camera enthusiasts to quickly retrieve and manipulate images and generate brilliant borderless 4 x 6 and 8.5 x 11 prints. The unit Ύs 48-bit flatbed scanner allows users to easily incorporate traditional photos into their digital worlds.
¦ “The Lexmark P3150 offers consumers access to a similar breadth of features as a photo processing kiosk found in retail stores ¦ but in the comfort of their own homes, said Paul Patterson, marketing manager of the company Ύs Consumer Printer Division. ¦ “The P3150 Ύs built-in camera card readers will allow the growing number of digital camera owners to take advantage of their digital images. At the same time, it can help them preserve and share their traditional photos by providing exceptional scanning and archiving capabilities.
Norwell, MA-based marketing research firm InfoTrends recently announced findings that indicated sales of digital cameras in North America would nearly replace sales of reloadable film cameras by 2008. Michelle Slaughter, director of InfoTrends' Digital Photography Trends service stated, "The shift to digital photography will be nearly complete by 2008 due to advancing consumer adoption of a wide range of consumer digital imaging solutions.
A personal photo studio

The P3150 Ύs flexible flatbed scanner captures the finest detail, with 48-bit colour depth and 600 x 1200 pixels per inch (ppi) optical resolution ¦ offering customers the opportunity to convert traditional photographs into digital pictures.
Lexmark Ύs integrated Photo Editor software ships with the P3150 and allows users to perform commonly sought-after image editing:
