Microtek Introduces Three New Digital Cameras at PMA Take-it D3, M-300, & MV-330 are all sleek, stylish, and versatile cameras for easy on-the-go use
Las Vegas, NV (February 13, 2004) Microtek introduced here at PMA today three new digital
cameras aimed at the budding or amateur photographer, each featuring 3.1-or-higher-megapixel CMOS
sensors, LCD screens with intuitive on-screen displays, digital and playback zoom, a variety of flash modes,
USB connectivity, and built-in internal flash with expandable memory. The three new cameras are the Take-it
D3, the M-300, and MV-330.
Take-it D3. Fun and functionality is what the Take-It D3 is all about. With a 3.21-megapixel CMOS
sensor, the camera can capture 2048 x 1536-pixel images (up to 2560 x 1536 interpolated). An efficient and
simple button layout allows you to accomplish any task quickly, and the large 1.5 LCD allows easy review of
pictures or framing of subjects. For close-up shots, the Take-It D3 has a 4X digital zoom function, plus userselectable
flash settings to provide great flexibility and accommodate a variety of lighting conditions. Five
modes ¦ Auto, Auto with Red-Eye Reduction, Forced Flash, Forced Flash with Red-Eye Reduction, and Flash
Off ¦ are offered for any type of photographic condition. To store images, the D3 comes with 8MB of internal
memory and a Secure Digital (SD) expandable memory slot. The Microtek Take-It D3 digital camera is now
shipping to the retail channel and is also available through Microtek's global distribution channels including
Ingram Micro, Tech Data, distributors of photographic equipment and supplies, value-added resellers, as well
as the direct mail channels. Estimated street price is $129.99.
M-300. The M-300 is a 3.1-megapixel camera with a 4x digital zoom. What distinguishes the
M-300 is also its 2x manual zoom feature that allows users to increase magnification levels to precise
levels such as 1.3x, 1.7x, 2.4x,etc. instead of traditional fixed points (1x / 2x / 3x, etc.). The manual
zoom feature also gives the M-300 camera a classic feel similar to that of more expensive SLR cameras.
Other features of the M-300 include a large 1.8 LCD screen, Macro up to 40 cm., and an AV output to
watch on TV similar to that allowed by a regular Digital Video camera. The M-300 will be available at
the beginning of Q2 in 2004, with an estimated street price of $149.99.
MV-330. The MV-330 is styled after a Digital Video camera, with a 3.21-megapixel CMOS
sensor and a high frame-per-second (fps) rate approaching the quality of standard video recordings. It has
a Direct Print feature that is PictBridge-compliant, allowing the MV-330 to print directly via USB cables
to printers using the PictBridge protocol without passing through a PC. And the camera Ύs MPEG4
technology allows movie recording in the .ASF format, recording images in motion with audio at 320 x
40 pixels (25 to 30 frames per second), or at 64 x 480 pixels (10 to 12 frames per second). The MV-330
also comes with 16MB of internal memory with Secure Digital card support, 1.8 LCD screen, plus USB
host and device functions that allow the camera to read and write on the USB flash drive. The MV-330
will be available at the beginning of Q2 in 2004, with an estimated street price of $199.99.
