    Dimage Z5 Help Required

    Hello, everyone.

I recently bought a Dimage Z5. I'm very pleased with it and it works ALMOST perfectly. The only problem I have is this:

When I connect it up to my computer, the screen reads, "Initialising USB Connection" for a second or two, before bleeping and saying, "System Error".

I've followed the instructions and have installed the viewer on my computer. Is this a problem that can be fixed, or should I exchange the camera for another?

I'd be VERY grateful if anyone can help me.
    Thanks,
    Stephen

My best recommendation is to get a card reader. I saw one at the following site for $14.

    http://www.memorysuppliers.com/multimedia.html

That eliminates all the computer interface problems. The card becomes another drive and you transfer the pictures directly from the card to wherever you want. When you're sure they're transferred you can erase them through the card reader.

    Sounds perfect.
Will a card reader transfer the video clips I have on my camera? If so, how will I be able to play them back? Surely they won't open in Quicktime or Windows Media Player, for example?

    This is most helpful.
    Cheers.

As far as I know, they're saved as files on the chip and can be transferred as such to your computer. I believe Quicktime or the Media player will work.

    Good luck!
