    s414 and Focusing

    Hi guys,

I'm trying to decide between a canon A70/a75 and the s414. One of the biggest factors swaying me toward Canon is their focus illuminator system. I'll be doing a lot of landscape shots, a lot of them at night and from the review pictures I've seen, focusing with the s414 seems to be tough. I come from a video background, where focusing manually isn't a very difficult task (larger lcd's) How difficult is it to get a proper focus with this cam?

    Cool

Thanks for the reply, some really encouraging shots on your site. Three questions for you:

    1) Do filters fit right on the lens or is there an adapter required?
    2) Ever catch yourself wishing the cam allowed for more than just 2 aperture settings?
    3) Do you use the remote, if so how useful do you find it?

Thanks! I actually don't use any filters in my shots. Though I have seen em work both ways with an adapter and without. As far as apeture settings go, hasn't bothered me in the least sense. I shoot generally in full manual with custom white balance and colors set to vivid. As far as the remote goes, haven't touched it Never had any reason to really as I don't do long exposure shots.
