USA AC adapter for dimage A1 does it work in the UK?

Hi, just a quick question.

I just bought the DiMAGE A1 from America but i realized that both the AC adapter and the battery charger has the American plug. Does anybody know if by adding a UK plug would let me charge the camera like normal or would this hurt the camera.

I don't know too much about electic power etc but i know that the US use 110-120 and the UK 220-240v.
