Dx 7590

I am new here and I just purchased the DX7590. I am sure I will be posting here a lot. What Kodak camera are you using? Have you tried the one I have?

I've got the DX6490, and love it. The new features on the 7590 sound great, unfortunately I can't justify upgrading right now!

I feel a little overwhelmed so many options and settings, I have no clue where to start.

The automatic shots are a great starting point, even the basic modes will give some very nice photos. Once you're more comfortable with capturing images, experiment with the manual settings.

I just purchased the DX7590 i like it but the evf/lcd contrast is a down point the yellow glare and tint are dissapointing in a $500 camera i find it difficult to tell if my pic is in focus when using the eye piece does any one else have this problem. this seem to happen in normal lighting such as in a house

I have the Z7590, which is the newer slightly upgraded version. I like the camera; it can be very easy to use and takes good pictures, the zoom is great. I particularly like the "P" mode which allows simple adjustment of the iso and exposure compensation. However, the auto mode takes fine pictures. I also enjoy manual mode.

One complaint is flash seems weak. Anyone else seen this?

Also the kodak battery is proprietory, unlike my old fuji which used 'aa' batteries. Better carry a spare, although battery life is excellent. Also, a big SD card is a must.

Well evan though this thread is old. I'll add to it. I have the KODAK DX3215,DX6340,DX7590, and the P850. No printer docks as of yet. I do have the HP photosmart 130 and my big old HP printer for 8X10's

I have recently purchased a DX7590. I am very happy with it, especially day shots. We have taken about 500 shots of all sorts now, still just playing around to get used to it. Before this, all I had was a little Samsung digmax 4. Totally different ball game now.

I tried to fiddle with all the settings last night to try and get a decent shot in doors with normal room lighting. I got some nice photos, but not great.

How do you guys go about shooting at night indoors under normal room light conditions?

I was choosing between a Canon S2 IS, a Panasonic FZ5 and the Kodak. The deciding factor eventually was the price, but now I am happy to say that the camera itself is great. The canon was going for R4300,00 , the Panasonic for R3799,00 and by luck, through a contact, I got the Kodak for R2999,00.

I have a dx7440 with 4x optical zoom 4MP.
Great camera and a nice clear optical view finder!
Missed the 10x optical zoom of my olympus2100uz so I bought a z7590, great camera but does not fit into my pocket like the dx7440

First.........I don't see how anyone can go wrong with having a DX7590/Z7590 as a first or second camera. They are a great little rigs. Some think there are better rigs some think the only way to get a better rig is to go to a DSLR. I've had a few more costly rigs come and go but that little 7590 lingers on.

I just added a DX6490 to my stable of KODAKS. I also bought a KODAK Series-3 printer dock.

To all KODAK DX7590 and Z7590 users for improved low light performance set your compression to FINE and not STANDARD. Fine uses more memory space but it's well worth it.
