    Speak Within Photoshop

I was watching my friend operate Photoshop and use nuance . com / naturallyspeaking / recently. Instead of dragging the mouse to the menu bar to edit a picture, she spoke into a mic that caught what she was saying. On the top left hand corner of the computer screen, it dictated her speech into the computer such as "File, Save As, 'Picture 1,' save." She told me that Dragon can do more commands within the computer too.
Do you guys have the program? If so, what's your experience with it?

I have a daughter who suffers from vertigo, so she has used Dragon Speak for some time. Once you develop the right discipline around commands, it works well in general. She has never used it with Photoshop, so I cannot comment on this particular example.

about 2 years with the tool. She worked hard for the first few weeks to master it - which was a great move as it became second nature. BTW, many doctors also use this to transcribe nedical notes.

I heard about that, which was interesting.
I was looking onto the testimonials under nuance . com / naturallyspeaking, and apparently Robert Frank (MD in Healthcare) said "I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking on a daily basis to perform all of my medical documentation including chart notes, telephone messaging, staff messaging and order commenting."

What version does your daughter have?

Re: version - good question, I will have to check at home, but as I recall, when she was buying, the (then) latest version was not as friendly as the prior version, so we were very specific on which update to buy. Worth some investigation. BTW, one other tip, a noise cancelling heaphone/microphone is valuable in getting good reproduction (just a few $$$ more these days).

Version 9 does come with a headphone/microphone set, but you probably knew that already unless the older versions didn't have them or something.
But that's one of the things I noticed while my friend was using Dragon. She didn't seem to mind. Usually she'll have the headset around her neck when she's not dealing with Dragon settings and whatnot.

    Question

Version 9's "Nothing But Speech" technology...

Is it really effective for eliminating the little non-words in everyday speech? ("umms", etc.)

    Thanks.
