I keep losing EXIF information...
Hello... I currently use Photoshop CS1 for image editing and preparing my photos for uploading. Once I am happy with my photo, I use the "Save for Web" function under FILE. For some reason, the EXIF information never gets saved when I do this.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can retain the EXIF information when I save for web use?
Your help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I don't think there is a way of doing it. That's why I don't use the save for web function. I just resize the image to the size required using "Image size" and use a small amount of unsharp mask to regain any sharpness lost. Then save the fila as a jpeg. This way all EXIF is retained.
Hope this helps

Yeah, the "Save for web" option discards EXIF data. You have to use the "Save as" option instead. The file size will be comparatively larger, but I don't think there's any other way.

I thought there was a way of exporting and importing EXIF/XMP data in Photoshop ... ?
If so, just 'save for web', save the metadata from the original, then import it into the new version. I'm pretty sure the big difference with 'save for web' was removing the metadata anyway ... last thing we need is a 140x166 image on a website with 40KB of metadata attached :P--
