Will 256mb SD card work.

I'm fairly new to digital cameras, so hopefully someone with a bit more experience can answer this easily. My camera's specs say that it's memory is "16mb - extendable to 128mb with sd / mmc card".
I've just seen a great deal on a 256mb card. My question is quite simply - will it work or is it too much for my camera to handle?

I would recommend post what camera you have since that way we will have a better understanding.

The 256 should work, but some of the earlier models did have restrictions on the size of the cards, but some can be over ridden.

Repost with what type of camera you have and the brand card your trying to upgrade to.

The camera is a basic enough model - Praktica DC32 and seems to be available only on the German market (bought it online). I eventually got a reply from the manufacturer who said a 256mb card "may" cause problems. They wouldn't guarantee that any photos taken would actually be stored. Sounds strange to me as it seems to be a new enough model, but anyway, I'm sticking with a 128mb until I progress to a better camera.
BTW they also advised me not to use anything other than SanDisk, Panasonic, Praktica or Hitachi.
