    Question photo archive software

What is the best (for the money) software available to store and catagorize several hundred old photos (small to large sizes) after (or as) I scan them? I would like to put labels (for search query) and captions under each photo, and would like to use a common format (jpg). It would be nice to scan and go directly to CD.
    thanks for your help.

    Thumbs up

I can't say what is "best", but I use iMatch and am very happy with it. Its strong point, for me, is exactly what you have asked about: The ability to define your own categories, assign multiple categories to any photo, and then perform complex searches based on the categories. It is truly a photo database.
