Hi everyone. I just recieved the S2000HD camera for christmas from my gf. I have never had a digital camera before and she hasnt either. I really have no idea what im doing with this thing. I tried to take a real close pic of some ants outside but the thing in macro mode wont focus. It just stays blurry? Is this camera not made for real close pics like that? Or what am I doing wrong? I have looked in the directions but I still dont know lol. Sorry for being a newb.

Congrats on the new camera! Not very familiar with Fuji cameras, but I'm guessing you're probably too close to your subject. Check out this review here: http://www.photoreview.com.au/review...x-s2000hd.aspx . Click on the "specifications" tab and you'll see the focus system/range which tells you that for normal shots, you can't be closer than 70cm; for macro (which I'm guessing you were using), the closest you can be is 10cm, and for supermacro - 1cm. Another possibility is that sometimes point-and-shoot cameras won't mix zooming and macro. Zoom all the way out, then move in closer to your subject physically. See if your camera will lock focus then.

Since you're not familiar with a digital camera, it wouldn't be a bad idea to read through the manual a bit, as well as a review or two that highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the camera. Have fun!

Thanks. I am checking out the link now. I also just seen today that they have a manual on cd that actually has alot more stuff so we are going to go through that. I appreciate the help.
