S5000 Can't get date imprinted

I have not been able to get the S5000 to imprint a date on pictures even though I have set the DPOF setting to "with date". Can anyone tell me how to set this camera up to get a date on a print (from taking card/CD to a kiosk or photo finishing shop). Any help would be appreciated.
