Fuji Finepix E550 lcd problem

While returning home from a trip via airplane, I was reviewing some of my pictures. Suddenly, the pictures were wavering and shifting in uneven vertical lines. I noticed the low battery light had just lit. Changed batteries and the lcd screen went white. Changed back to older batteries and lcd screen fine - for awhile. For a few days, the screen acted fine, then white, then fine....whether or not new batteries were used. Now, the screen is always white. The camera still takes great pictures, just can use the menu or review any photos without downloading them. Any one have this problem??

I've never heard of that. I'm on my 2nd Fine Pix camera and love them. I just got the s5200. I would contact them directly to inquire about the problem.

there was a issue with the Fuji F700 cameras were this was a major issue and when Fuji tried to fix this they ordered in a batch of faulty ccd's. by the sounds of it your camera is knackard but a quick return to fuji should fix it no problem.

with any luck it wont cost you anything either.

I don't have the exact same problem, but I have a Fuji E550 and after about 8 - 9 months of no problems, now the pictures come out with bright white lines running through them. It seems that any light will set it off. Only when I use the flash in near darkness, do the photos come out OK. Any suggestions? I haven't heard from Fuji yet.
