Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc. today announced the launch of the FinePix S5000, a consumer digital SLR camera model.
The camera carries Fujifilm's proprietary Super CCD HR (High Resolution) sensor, offering 3.1 million effective pixels for crisp, vivid images. The FinePix S5000 also offers a 10x optical zoom and 2.2x digital zoom (at 1280 x 960 pixels), allowing photo enthusiasts to capture images of distant subjects. Its traditional styling, pre-programmed scenes, and optional full manual controls create a pleasurable experience for consumers who want to combine the artistry of photography with the convenience of digital.
The FinePix S5000 offers 3.1 million effective pixels, which can produce images of 2,816 x 2,120 (6 million) recorded pixels for high-quality prints up to 16 x 20 inches in size. In addition to powering the camera's resolution, the Super CCD HR sensor provides rich color reproduction and life-like detail in captured images.
"We're pleased to introduce the FinePix S5000, an outstanding addition to our digital camera product line," said Eric Thorng, Senior Marketing Manager, Consumer Digital Cameras, Photo Imaging Division, Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc. "Fujifilm understands the photo enthusiast's need for control and quality. That's why the FinePix S5000 offers fully manual controls combined with our leading-edge sensor technology and long zoom capacity. In this camera, we've leveraged our traditional film and film camera expertise to provide a high quality consumer digital camera."
Fujifilm's FinePix S5000 digital camera offers the following array of features:
-- Improved color saturation - The FinePix S5000's Super CCD HR sensor system enables the digital picture-taker to capture images with rich, vibrant colors that radiate in prints.
-- Increased resolution and reach - The camera's Super CCD HR Sensor maximizes 3.1 million effective pixels to produce a true-to-life 2,816 x 2,120 (6.0 million) recorded pixel output file. The camera also offers an amazing 10x optical and 2.2x digital zoom and optional wide and telephoto lens adapters.
-- Traditional SLR styling - The FinePix S5000's traditional body and large lens provide a familiar feel to photo enthusiasts. The FinePix S5000 measures 4.4 (W) x 3.2 (H) x 3.1 (D) inches, and weighs 11.9 ounces without batteries and media.
