    Question 602Z Flash

OK... I got me a 602Z. As you probably know, it has a hot shoe right!

Now, I went into my local Jessops (Camera store) and asked the nice lady behind the counter about getting an external flash for it.

Her reply shocked me, She said that there weren't any flash's that would be compatible with the 602Z, Even Fuji dont do one. All of the flashes would fit, they just wouldn't flash when I pressed the shutter!

Now, After leaving the shop in complete shock, I started to think... well why do fuji put a hot shoe on the thing then???

So my question is to you lot, Is there a flash that would be compatible with a 602Z or is Fuji insane and sticks hot shoes onto cameras just to make them look pretty?

Well she is right in one way and wrong in another.

The Fuji 602 does not have flashes that it will work TTL metering with. This is due to the single design posted on the hotshoe.

But the big advantage with the 602 was its ablility to handle about anyflash you pop on it. It has been unoffically released many times, but most say the 602 can handle a trigger voltage of 500. Which is WAY more than most (5-8).

There are alot of good flashes and manufactures that are out there, and with a quick search you will find MANY...

Just stay below 500, actually 100 to be on the safe size and you will be ok.

You stated it would not fire? Did you go into you menu system and set it for external flash? Its all way over on the left side, i think the first option. Other than that, you should be good to go.

Good camera, hope you enjoy it.

Now why couldn't the woman at jessops say that!

    Cheers
