    Unhappy Help For Newbie

    Hey,

Its come to the time where i want my first DSLR.

I have very basic knowlege of slrs.

Ive decided on canon, im thinking about the 450d or 40d ... is this a good direction for an amature?

I dont want something i will outgrow out too fast, i want something that will last me, but not confuse the hell out of me. not too advanced.

Im looking at ’…’‚‚£400/’…’‚‚£500 price range.

But if i find the right one i would pay around ’…’‚‚£800.

Could you suggest a semi- professional cameras.

    any help much apprechiated.

    Kelly

    What Camera

Hi, I am a novice but I got the 40D. The way cameras keep advancing thought better at least get a good one.
Another thing you may wish to look for your purchase is Canon refebished cameras I got mine from Ebay.
    Many Thanks,
    Russell.

Ask 100 people and you will get 100 different answers.

I have the Canon 40D and love it. Your lens choice will probably count for 75% of your final results. Don't buy any cheapies.

    Good luck.

    Re: Help For Newbie

As a beginner Cannon 450D is a great choice. Its a great pick for photographers and is very quick on taking pics For a similar or cheaper price, there are several D-slrs that are well worth a look, Nikon D40, Nikon D60, Canon 400D. Have a look at this ww.checkcost.co.uk/digital-cameras/c/4368.
If I were you I would spend ’…’‚‚£500 on the camera body and ’…’‚‚£300 on a lens. The camera is at the end if the day basically just a box that collects light. A good quality lens will have a far greater effect on your photographs than a few extra mega pixels or some gimmicky feature.

    camera choice

I just bought my 1st DSLR, did a lot of research price and bang for buck...

I ended up with the 450D Rebel XSI...

The thing I like the best is I can put it in auto mode and wife can use it and still get really really good pictures...

I got the kit lens which is fine for now, but already looking into a zoom lens...
