New to DSLR and Rebel question

Well hello everyone, I am new to this board as well as the world of DSLR. I just picked up a EOS Rebel XTi. I was trying to find out how to use the LCD screen the same way it is used on point and shoot cameras. I know its not the best way to take a picture. I parouzed the manual and cant seem to find anything. Is screen not able to be used in this function?

    thanks

    Welcome to byte!!
On a DSLR you can not view the picture until after it is taken.

    Did that answer your question?

    cheers, Joe

You have better camera control looking through the viewfinder than you do holding the camera at arms length. You also won't have sun shinging on the lcd and washing out your viewing. --Rick
