Bypass Canon's software to access pictures?
Does anyone know if you can browse the memory card of a Canon A460 (or any Canon) directly through Windows Explorer? The other cameras I've owned assign themselves a drive letter when connected by USB. I don't want to use Canon's software.

I don't connect my camera to the computer, but rather use a card reader and also shoot in RAW. I can easily see these on the computer if shot in JPEG. By shooting in Raw, I use Google's free Picassa software to view the files when in the field on a laptop.
In either case, (desktop and transferred or on card in the field) I never use Canon software.
I am not sure if this helps, but hope I gave you some answer of value.
