no aoto focus points
lost my af focal points in viewfinder.Camera seems to be confused in auto focus mode going in and out of focus.I still get af points in manual focus lock, but on auto focus,do not get lit focal point grid.Cannon support said a sensor was bad, to send it to them, will fix 3 to 4 weeks. My question, would it behoove me to take it to a local shop,or let cannon do it?? Any advice

Depending on which Canon you have and whether it's still under warranty or not, I would not trust a camera shop to fix your problem. See if you can find a Canon certified dealer and then send it to them. If the camera is still under warranty, it shouldn't take 3 to 4 weeks. I had a problem with my Canon 20D one month after I purchased it and Canon was able to return the camera to me in just under 7 days.
These cameras are pretty complicated and just any unauthorized camera shot will probably ruin your camera. Be careful and do some research!
Good luck!Feedback is a gift!
