Problems with A300

Not very competant at these things and just logged on for some advice

I was hoping to steal some help from someone with some technical expertise.

I have a Canon powershot A300. A few weeks back I was taking pics when it stopped working. It was working fine most of the day, but late on it came up with a 'change battery pack now' message. However I tried 3/4 brand new batteries and none of them worked.

I suspect that there is some sort of power cell, or power pack that has gone on me. Do you have any ideas?
Is it worth fixing, or is a new one required?

Things don't look to bright as to the answer, Irish, do they? I have exactly the same problem. My A300 Powershot camera was working working beautifully, then suddenly keeps giving me "replace battery" and still doesn't work. Hope you (we!) get some answer to it. Or have you got to the bottom of it elsewhere?
