Powershot prob: plis help !

Hi Guys

I am little new with digicams. i got a canon powershot A510 about 6 months back. From yesterday i have noticed a strange problem. when i power on the camera, the shutter opens partially , or sometimes doesnt open at all, sometimes opens. Kindly let me know why it may happen or what can i do to prevent it.

Do you mean the lens-protector which opens and closes automatically when you power-on/power-off? (this is not a shutter in the photographic sense, just a lens protector ( an electronic version of a lens cap). Could be the batteries getting flat. Try fitting fresh, hi-power AA alkaline batteries. If no improvement, take it back to the supplier as it's still under warranty if only six months old.

I'd guess the supplier will do nothing for you afer 30 days, and thats normal. Send it back to CANON once you contact them. That leave out middle man that only slows your camera's return.
