    Tripod?

Can anyone advise which tripod is the best available and what sort of head should It have. it's for a 350D allowing for a 90-300 zoom.It need to be lightweight so it can strap to a day pack when i travel and must stand around 4-5 ft tall.
    Thanks.

i found a 4-5 foot tripod at wallmart. its a screw type that fits all the digital cameras i have tried on them. It is about 12 inches in stored config. You telescope the legs and it becomes a tripod. its under 20 dollars. It isnt a professional one, but it does the job till i get a nice one.
