Canon SD500 vs Sony DSC-W7
I'm looking to buy a digital point and shoot camera. I think I've narrowed it down to 2 just released cameras, the Canon sd500 and the Sony dsc-w7. They both seem similar in their specs and are both 7 MP cameras. Does anybody have a suggestion on which to go with.

SD vs. MemoryStick is a better question
I generally shy away from Sony cameras due to the limitations of MemoryStick. You end up buying a bunch of storage that is only useful in other *Sony* cameras. SD and CF are industry standard storage formats that work in a variety of devices. Even if you don't have any other devices, you may want to plan ahead for when your camera becomes obsolete, or if it breaks (which is what most likely will happen)--you don't want to be locked into a single manufacturer because of the investments you've made in storage.
Just something to keep in mind.http://travis.kroh.net
