10D and lense and decision and where :P

I am trying to to figure out which one should I get: 10D or Rebel. I have read some threads here and it seems that Rebel is cheaper but 10D is better. I personally do not like rebel light body. However Rebel comes with lense. Now I have a question. I have an SLR ElanII with lens and I wonder if I can use its lense for 10D if I get it?
Also, where do you recommend me to get the camera from? Bestbuy? B&H? Goodguys? ?? ANyone knows of any online dealer that do not charge tax for the cameras? I came across this site called cameraexpress and it sells 10D for only like $900, do you think that's real?
    Thanks.

    Hi
Canon 10D Is much better than Digital Rebel. As for the lens, if you have a CANON EF Lens it will work on both the Digital Rebel and 10D. However in order to get the best out of your CAMERA, you will need good quality lenses.
Some of the good lenses are (click on each to see details)

    Canon 50mm Mark II

    Canon 28-105mm F3.5-4.5 USM III

    or

    EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM

I think these are the best lenses on budget and I personally use them

As for where to buy from? I would suggest you to buy from a REPUTED online store like AMAZON or B&H Photo etc. Always check from www.resellerratings.com for the REPUTATION of the SELLER before you buy anything. Specially if you think that the price of the ITEM is too low to be true.

    I hope this helps

    Thanks
    Leo.

Can anyone tell me why the Rebel is not as good as 10D? The figures are almost the same except the body weight right? I still cannot decided on which one. Tough choice! If 10D comes with lense I will go ahead and get it. But Rebel is really pretty cheap.... Does anyone here has Rebel and have good or bad comments on it? I would like to have more opinions. Thanks.

    HI CLAW
I HAVE HAD A REBEL NOW FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS, IT REALLY IS A GREAT PIECE OF KIT, I HAVE ONLY 2 PROBLEMS WITH IT.
1, IT JUST DOSNT FEEL SOLID ENOUGH, ALTHOUGH THIS HAS BEEN IMPROVED BY PUTTING BATTERY PACK ON IT,
2, YOU CANNOT ADJUST THE METERING MODES, SO YOU ARE STUCK WITH A KIND OF CENTRE WEIGHETED AVERAGE, WHICH IS FINE FOR MOST SHOTS BUT I DO MISS SPOT METERING FOR THOSE TRICKY MOMENTS.
all i can say is wow

    Canon 10-D

I've been using the Canon 10-D for almost a year and I love it! It's sturdy, easy to use and the pictures come out great. I shoot weddings and sports and lots of moving kids and I hardly miss a shot. I did my homework before spending my money on a camera and the Canon 10-D had the best reviews.
