Which filter ???

Anyone out there know of a filter I can use to take the glare off water shots, ie to photograph koi carp ? Canon 300d

Koi have been a major part of my life since I was about knee high to a grasshopper. We have always had orntimental ponds and enjoyed there mistic motion. I am glad to see fellow photographers enjoying them as well.

The key to koi photograph is not just the filters. But since asked a good polarizer will do the trick. You can pick them up online or even at most local photo stores. I would say a decent one will run you in the $20-40, but they range well up into the triple digits.

The key I have found is getting the right water conditions/lighting. Most koi ponds are going to be clear, but fine particals can show up durning mid-day hours. I have found early morning and even some evening lighting gives a nice tone to the colors and helps diffuse the bottom.

Also play with angles. I have seen and worked with some neat photographers that do great work when they go beyond the norm and move around to get differant angles...
