My wife & I are both interested in macro with our Rebels. We have a 18x55 that came with the camera and a 75x300 as an extra. I also have a 2x multiplier I play with some.
I havent played with the 18x55 much & am curious how well it will do macros.

well...Most of the lens you talk about are ones I have had or still do..yes more money then brains at times.I thought the 28-135mm IS lens was super for basic walk around lens. Then I complimented it with the 75-300 mm IS lens...dismal this lens was.I then traded that and bought the 70-200mm F4L lens..excellant and light. Then decided I needed something faster and got the 70-200mm 2.8 L IS lens which I love and when I need the big reach I use the 2X converter on it.Very nice and the IS works well with converter. The 50mm 1.8 prime is the best bang for the buck in my opinion.Well...now thats my bit and saving for the big lenses.
