I have a Kodak DX7630. Great little camera. Bought a 3x telephoto lens to boost my picture potential for a trip to Africa and have been playing around with it at home pre-trip.

When I take photos, the edges are blurred. Is this a symptom of purchasing a cheap telephoto lens?

Adam, it's possible you're experiencing Vignetting - does your photo look like a variation of this?

If that's what it is, there's a fairly technical article here on what causes it and how to prevent it. http://www.vanwalree.com/optics/vignetting.html

And if not, then sorry! I read a couple of reviews of your camera that said it supports attachments, so you might want to show the camera store where you got it what is happening and ask if they've seen that problem before.

Adam is it possible you bought junk lenes off of e-bay. Maybe a brand with the name of crystel optics, high definition, opteka, professional, kenko, asian, titanium, focus optics, digital optics, merkury, or maybe the always worthless digital concepts lens kit. If you bought any of these along with a host of other brands you got yourself some great looking paper weights.
