    Thumbs up Congratulations

Mike this has to be one of the very best photos I've ever seen taken of a bobcat and a most deserved win in the photo of the week.

Super shot Mike, can't wait to see more

    congrats

congrats on your POTW, what a spectacular capture.
I checked out the website to the place you said you took this. I had heard about it but didnt know much about it.
I live in Bucks County, so not too far from that area.
I bet they must be booked with reservations for the next year.

    Thumbs up The Bobcat

Sorry I didn't have an oportunity to comment when this was in the contest, great photo, technically a very good capture with what is usually a difficult at best exposure situation (snow settings) but you handled it supremely.

The subject matter leaves me a little saddened though, don't take this wrong, I don't mean to offend but as I seem to have developed quite a knack for upsetting people I most likely will here too.

I don't care for pictures of animals in captivity regardless of how nice their accomodations. the animals that you photographed were all raised in captivity and are being used for commercial gain, there are legitimate wildlife rescue agencies that are non profit and try to help to relocate and if possible release wild animals found in captivity but this is not one of them.

I know that the people at the preserve probably said things like they were saved from roadside cages or zoos and boy aren't they happy here at the preserve. but the goal of the Decons and Jim Stein is to have the animals there earn them a living which also allows them to "play" with their "friends" the wolves. The only reason that these and other wolves are in roadside zoos is because we continue as a people to fund them by paying to see them, The Decons have just put a different spin on this idea.

Judging from your portfolio you seem to like the wildlife of the great outdoors. I think as photographers we need to work a little harder to get our wildlife shots and not subsidize them with confined wild animals.

I will get off of my soapbox now! once again great shot!
